The useful answers.

How does “Compare my groceries” work?

Choose your city and the stores you would actually visit, and mark your usual store. Add the items you buy and set quantities: packages, or kilograms for items sold by weight. We show which store costs less for your whole list, with the date of every price.

Why is a store not ranked for my list?

A store is ranked only when it has a price for every item compared. We never fill gaps with estimates in your list, so a missing price can never make a store look cheaper. An item that none of your stores prices is shown as “not compared” instead of being silently dropped.

What does “too close to call” mean?

Differences smaller than about 1% or 50 cents are reported as too close to call. A lead that small is within normal week-to-week price movement, so choose on convenience. When package sizes differ, we also show a size-adjusted comparison.

Is my list private? Can I share it?

Saving keeps your list on this device only. There is no account, and nothing is sent to us unless you share the list or ask for updates. A shared link carries the city, items, chosen stores and the date of the prices the sender saw. The recipient can open and copy it without an account, and newer prices are clearly marked as a refresh.

Do I need an account?

No. Comparing stores, browsing prices and saving your list on this device are free and need no account. Accounts are for data subscriptions and private client workspaces assigned to you.

Why is my city or store missing?

Available chains depend on the city and the coverage of our observations. Costco is not included, and Walmart prices appear only when a verified weekly collection is available. The coverage page lists the cities and stores we track.

Why does my receipt show a different price?

These are observations from retailer websites, rather than guaranteed checkout prices. Promotions, pack sizes, brands, and local availability can change.

What does an estimate mean on a city page?

City pages compare a fixed 50-item example basket. When an item's price is missing at a chain, that basket uses the item's average at other chains in the same city. Estimates are labelled, and a basket needs at least 48 prices found and all 50 items covered before it can be ranked. Your own list never uses estimates.

I am signed in. Why are subscriber tools missing?

Signing in alone does not unlock licensed data. Check your subscription in My account and use the email attached to it. Access to a private client workspace is separate from an index subscription.

How can I get help signing in?

Use the same method you used to create your account: Google or email and password. If you are stuck, contact hello@grocerypulse.ca. Please do not send your password or API key.
